Summary:

Major sources with emissions at or above 100 tons/year for any air pollutant must obtain a Title V permit, with lower thresholds in non-attainment areas. Certain sources, including solid waste incinerators and hazardous waste combustors, also require permits. Non-major sources subject to National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) may need permits, and specific synthetic minor sources are included as well.
