Requires data centers that pollute or diminish public or private water supplies to restore or replace the affected supply with an alternate source of water. Must meet prior quality standards or Pennsylvania Safe Drinking Water Act standards. Impacted parties can initiate Department of Environmental Protection investigation. Requires data centers to annually report to public service commission on water and electricity usage and sources, including percentage renewable electricity.

Data center thermal impact and community protection act (HB 2652, MI)
Requires data center operators, 120 days before commencing construction / modification, to submit thermal impact assessments to the public service commission, including all mitigation methods considered. The commission will distribute assessments to local governments and planning / zoning commissions to use in planning decisions. Key sections of assessments to be made public.
