On Tuesday, September 8 at 7 PM ET, Better Path Coalition is hosting “Informing the Resistance: Right-to-Know Requests That Get Results,” a webinar on how advocates and community members can use open records requests to uncover information, hold decision-makers accountable, and strengthen their organizing.
Concerned Citizens of Montour County recently demonstrated just how powerful this tool can be. Their Right-to-Know request produced documents revealing details about the Shapiro administration’s communications and relationship with data center developers, including Amazon.
Colby Wesner, co-founder of Concerned Citizens of Montour County, will walk through what went into preparing their request, what they received, and how they approached analyzing the results.
Anneke van Rossum, Advocacy and Advancement Coordinator with Delaware Riverkeeper Network, will then provide practical guidance on filing effective Right-to-Know requests of your own, including what to ask for and how to increase your chances of getting useful results.
