Pennsylvania Survey on Data Centers & Artificial Intelligence – Emerson Polling

In Pennsylvania, 48% of residents believe artificial intelligence will negatively impact the economy, while 55% think it will reduce job availability in their industries. Awareness of data centers is high, with 56% familiar, but support for their construction is mixed: 38% support building them in the state, and 42% oppose them in local communities. Concerns about energy consumption and environmental impacts are prevalent, with 71% worried about electricity use. Governor Josh Shapiro has a 49% approval rating, and the survey was conducted with 2,000 adults, reflecting a margin of error of +/- 2 percentage points.
